Man arrested following hit and run

A Dandenong man is expected to be charged with offences that include the reckless conduct of endangering life following an alleged hit-and-run collision in Carrum on Saturday 18 January.

Police have been told that two cyclists were riding southbound on the Nepean Highway, between McLeod and Eel Race roads, when they were allegedly struck by a car from behind at around 6:30am.

The car involved had left the scene.

The cyclists on the other hand, a 52-year-old man from Ormond and a 48-year-old man from Glen Waverly were both injured and taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A member of the public contacted police in regard to the incident and the 38-year-old driver was subsequently located at an address in Dandenong around 5:30pm.

The man was interviewed but released pending summons.
