Dandenong man arrested after mobility scooter collision

A Dandenong Man has been arrested and charged following a collision in Skye on Tuesday, 4 March.

The 49-year-old was apprehended by Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives after allegedly colliding with a man on a mobility scooter.

Detectives allege that a silver Holden Astra left the road and collided with a 51-year-old Skye man on a mobility scooter on the footpath along McCormicks Road around 8:45pm.

The Astra then allegedly fled the scene, and the Skye man, after falling to the ground, was treated for minor injuries.

Detectives, after arresting the Dandenong man and seizing the Holden Astra on Wednesday, 5 March, charged him with reckless conduct endangering life and serious injury.

He was also charged with intentionally causing injury, failure to stop the vehicle after an accident, failure to render assistance, failure to report to police if the person was injured, stalking, and using carriage service to harass.

He was bailed to appear before Frankston Magistrates’ Court on 14 April.
