Max Pawsey Reserve in Narre Warren will see a $400,000 commitment from the Federal Government for its reinvigoration if re-elected, with plans to modernise playing fields and add female-friendly changing rooms.
This also includes a community space, working in partnership with the City of Casey, which has already invested $1.16 million towards the redevelopment.
Federal member for Bruce, Julian Hill MP, said that “sport is such an important part of our local community, improving the physical and mental health of players of all ages and enriching social cohesion”.
“This investment by a re-elected Labor Government will address safety issues at Max Pawsey Researce and establish dedicated changing facilities for women, creating an inclusive space for the whole community to enjoy,” Hill said.
This election commitment looks to bridge the funding gap, with the ultimate goal of providing outdoor space for the local sporting clubs and their recreational needs, forecasted to accommodate more than 570,000 residents by 2046.
“If you had to a local ground, court, pitch, or oval on a Saturday morning, you’ll see people from all walks of life forging lasting friendships both on and off the field,” he said.
