Buses to replace trains between Berwick and East Pakenham Station

Buses will be replacing trains between Berwick and East Pakenham on the Pakenham line due to an equipment fault.

Trains are expected to continue to operate between Flinders Street and Berwick, with delays to services to be expected.

Coaches are also replacing Melbourne-bound V/Line services on the Gippsland line from East Pakenham through to Flinders Street Station.

Trains towards Traralgon and Bairnsdale will continue to operate, but with delays to the service.

Passengers are asked to check station platform displays, to listen for announcements, and to allow for extra travel time.

Motorists have also been asked to be vigilant for extra pedestrians and buses around train stations on the Pakenham line.

The Department of Transport’s signals team is monitoring conditions and will be adjusting traffic lights as needed to assist with bus movements along the Pakenham line.

Real-time traffic conditions are available at traffic.transport.vic.gov.au.
