Jumps of criminal incidents and recorded offences in Casey’s top five suburbs

Cranbourne, Narre Warren, Berwick, Clyde North and Hampton Park – that’s the order of the five suburbs in the City of Casey that have seen the most criminal incidents and recorded offences, with all seeing an increase from 2024.

The ladder remained the same from the previous year, with Cranbourne recording 2836 criminal incidents in 2025, as compared to 2217 in 2024, marking a 27.9 per cent increase; while further south, Clyde North has seen jumps upwards of 40 per cent.

Narre Warren recorded 2715 criminal incidents, an increase from 2203 of 23.2 per cent.

Berwick recorded 2291, an increase from 2065 of 10.9 per cent.

Clyde North, which recently took over Hampton Park for fourth place in 2023, recorded 1841 incidents in 2025, as compared to 1301 in 2024, marking the biggest increase of the five with 41.5 per cent.

Hampton Park recorded 1277, an increase from 1149 of 11.1 per cent.

When it comes to offences recorded, the ladder remains the same, with Cranbourne tacking on 3956, up from 2024’s figure of 3181, a jump of 24.4 per cent.

Narre Warren is trailing close, with 3593 incidents, up from the previous year’s 3019, up 19 per cent.

Berwick recorded 3015, an increase from 2718, up 10.9 per cent.

Clyde North had 2435, up big from 1705, an increase of 42.8 per cent.

Hampton Park recorded 1759, up slightly from 1688, an increase of 4.2 per cent.

Criminal incidents refer to events that involve one or more offences, all linked by time, location and offender/s.

Here, each incident is counted once, even if it includes multiple offences.

In turn, offences recorded account for the total number of criminal offences that police have recorded, regardless of the number of incidents that they originate from.

In the context of criminal incidents, Cranbourne saw a noticeable jump in activity, while Narre Warren saw the same spike.

Berwick, amongst the top five, had the smallest growth, a moderate and gradual increase compared to previous years.

Clyde North, on the other hand, saw the largest jump in percentage and has been in a constant increase starting in 2016.

Hampton Park had the second lowest increase, indicating a steady but fluctuating figure that is similar to numbers since 2016.

The recorded offences have held steady per incident, signalling more frequent occurrences of crime.

While Narre Warren and Cranbourne remain the most active suburbs in Casey, their increases are more gradual compared to Clyde North, which has also seen massive expansions in residential and commercial developments.
