New heartfelt musical at Beaconhills

A hilarious and heartfelt coming-of-age musical about identity, friendship and growing up is coming to the stage at Beaconhills College.

Students from Berwick Campus Years 5-8 will perform 13 Jr. from Thursday, 31 July to Saturday, 2 August and tickets are now up for sale.

Director Stephanie French said the talented cast of young performers, musicians and stage crew had worked with “enthusiasm, open minds, and hearts full of music.”

“Every cast member has found their own connection to the story; not fitting in, the rollercoaster of finding your people, and the powerful reminder that staying true to yourself is what really makes you shine,” Ms French said.

“We hope you laugh, cheer, and maybe even see a little of your 13-year-old self up on stage!”

She said one of the most rewarding parts of the experience had been working alongside alumni-students she had once taught, who were now leaders in the performing arts world.

“Watching them come full circle is a genuine honour, and I’m so proud to be a small part of their creative journey.”

Music styles range from reggae to pop rock and 70s RnB, with the show suitable for all ages.

The venue is the College’s Tony Sheumack Centre for Performing Arts at Beaconhills College Berwick Campus, 92 Kangan Drive, Berwick.
