Unexpected winter wonders

Winter often feels like a quiet season when most prefer the comfort of home. But if you venture outside, you might be surprised by what you discover. Our photographer, Garry Sissons, took a morning stroll through Wilson Botanic Park and captured the magic firsthand.

During his visit, Garry spotted a family enjoying the fresh air alongside their pet Malibu, a striking blue and yellow macaw. He also captured the serene beauty of one of the park’s waterfalls which is a hidden gem that perfectly complements the winter atmosphere.

For those who took the time to visit, the day at Wilson Botanic Park was a memorable experience, deepening their appreciation not only for the stunning surroundings but also for the dedicated team who care for this local treasure.

If winter feels slow, maybe it’s time to get out and see the unexpected wonders waiting just beyond your doorstep.
