Both the Cranbourne and Pakenham train lines will be facing two weeks of disruptions, as buses will replace trains throughout August.
Level crossing removal works are set to go through on Webster Street, Dandenong, as replacement buses begin on 1 August between Westall, Berwick and Cranbourne from 8:30pm to the last service on Sunday, 3 August.
Replacement buses will also operate between Dandenong, Berwick and Cranbourne from the first service on Monday, 4 August, to 8:30pm on Friday, 8 August.
Between Westall, East Pakenham and Cranbourne from 8:30pm on Friday, 8 August, buses will also be replacing trains, running until the last service on Sunday, 10 August.
The last replacement buses for this period will be between Westall, Berwick and Cranbourne from the first service on Monday, 11 August, until the last service on Wednesday, 13 August.
Passengers have been urged to allow for extra time when travelling and to check the PTV website or mobile app for changes to services.
As part of the works, Webster Street in Dandenong wil close at the level crossing for up to 10 minutes at a time to allow heavy machinery to enter the rail corridor and for the installation of overhead cables.
Motorists are asked to follow the direction of traffic management and to allow extra time when travelling in the area.
During this time, crews will work around the clock to complete signalling and overhead wiring works and piling for the new road underpass.
The Webster Street level crossing will be closed to vehicles in Spring, and the new road underpass connecting the Princes Highway to Cheltenham and Hammond roads will open in 2026.
Getting rid of this level crossing will make the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines boom gate-free.
Passengers are encouraged to visit ptv.vic.gov.au/disruptions for more information and to plan their journey.
