CRANBOURNE BOWLS
Cranbourne’s number-four side has survived a thrilling contest against Mordialloc to win the premiership on Sunday – winning a great battle by just two shots with a 66-64 victory.
The fourth side, playing at home, had a good win against Cardinia Waters in their semi-final on Saturday, before taking down Mordialloc at Noble Park on Sunday.
Congratulations to everyone involved and we look forward to further great results over the coming weeks.
It was a case of three cheers for the Dandenong Club as Cranbourne’s No.1 side went down against a better side on the day in the semi-final game played on Saturday.
Although Cranbourne were competitive on three rinks, Dandenong Club led from start to finish bringing Cranbourne’s season to an end.
Cranbourne has done very well over the past three years, making the finals each time and adding new players to the list, but must now do some soul-searching to see how they can do better next year.
In mid-week bowls, team one and team three play off in their semi-final on Tuesday and if they win they proceed to play again in the grand final on Thursday.

A large number of supporters turned up at Dandenong Club to support Cranbourne and the atmosphere was very positive. However, Dandenong Club got away to a good start and Cranbourne were chasing them for most of the day. Three rinks were competitive right up to the finish but a large deficit on the other rink put Cranbourne out of contention with Dandenong Club going on to win by 24 shots.

A narrow 11-shot loss to Berwick ended a pretty good year for this side. Not a bad effort considering the team had to play a few players short during the year due to lack of players available.
