In a staggered start to round one the Outer East Premier Division netball competition is now fully back in action.
A new-look Beaconsfield suffered a heart-breaking four-goal loss to Monbulk, 38-34, at Holm Park Reserve.
The Eagles went into the quarter time huddle down by five goals and struggled to push ahead of the Hawks.
The visitors continued to push the advantage going into the main break.
The gap closed going into the fourth quarter after the Eagles produced an 11-goal third-term assault. But unfortunately for Beaconsfield, it was unable to bridge the gap.
Goal attack Zara Treweek was the top scorer with 23 goals, while Eliza Mettes and Gabbie Stinear were valuable contributors on the day.
ROC had a nail-biter against Upwey Tecoma at Officer Recreation Reserve.
The Kangaroos had a quick start bouncing out to a four-goal quarter-time lead. The Upwey Tigers closed the gap going into half-time leading by one goal.
Isabella O’Shanassy (21) combined with Samantha Neil (11) to help their side across the line, 39-37.
In other games, Olinda Ferny Creek scored a 63-54 victory over Woori Yallock and Wandin showed its class with a 71-41 win over Mt Evelyn.
Narre Warren and Pakenham started Premier Division round one a week ago, with the Magpies prevailing 43-23.
In Division One, Berwick had a strong 42-33 win over Emerald on Saturday.
Berwick had to come from behind after being down at quarter-time.
Emma Clarke and Danielle Hanley book-ended the strong win, while Olivia Macente was at her best through the centre to providing transition ball between Clarke and Hanley.
Berwick Springs fell short against Seville, 47-29.
Springs shooter Jess Hoskin finished with 19 goals, while Chloe Maas did her best in defence but couldn’t help her side secure victory.
Seville goal-attack Olivia Ray was a thorn in the Springs side, scoring 22 goals in a standout performance.
In other games, Yarra Glen proved far too strong for Healesville, winning 56-19, while Gembrook-Cockatoo was celebrating hard after the Brookers scored a 47-37 victory over Belgrave.
