Melbourne City took on the South Korean side Jeonnam Dragons, in its third match of the Asian Champions League.
City were coming off a strong 3-0 victory over Philippine side United FC in its previous clash.
City coach Patrick Kisnorbo made a raft of changes to the side after the short three-day turn around.
English import Carl Jenkinson, Curtis Good, Andrew Nabbout and power-striker Jamie Maclaren all made their return to the side.
The clash started fairly evenly with both sides having a fair share of possession, with plenty of attacking flair and a will to score evident.
The Casey boys continued to push higher and higher up the pitch, eventually leading to the break-through.
Carl Jenkinson showed his class with the ball at his feet; the midfielder strolled through towards goal driving a ball with class and poise past the keeper, ricocheting off the post and into the bottom left corner.
City’s lead only lasted a mere four minutes, however, after well-built up passing movement from the Dragons saw Kyu-Hyeok Lee latch onto a well delivered pass across goal for his sides first.

The match once again took another steep turn, with Andrew Nabbout finding himself in a paddock of space down the right side.
A weaving Nabbout run saw him evade three defenders to score his second Champions League goal.

The second-half saw the intensity raise with goals harder to come by, gloveman Thomas Glover was the busiest man on the pitch, pulling off a few crucial saves to keep his side in front.
City had their chances to further increase their advantage but failed to impact the scoreboard lacking the finishing poise.
The game ending in a 2-1 victory for City.
The win see’s City second in group G by goal-difference, after Pathum United had a resounding 5-0 victory over United City.
