Wayward Wickers miss chance

A wayward first half has cost Berwick its first win of the season.

The Wickers kicked 1.10 to Doncaster’s 2.3 at the main break, wasting opportunities to be not only in front, but to have sealed the game.

Clint Evans’ men finished the game with 3.13 (31) on the board, suffering defeat to the Sharks, who kicked 7.6 (43).

Both Berwick and Doncaster entered the match as two of three sides without a win.

The loss echoes a faint sound of warning bells for the Wickers, who are now in second last place on the ladder.
