UNDER-13 WHITE VS CRANBOURNE.
When you play the same team four times out of your last six games, the coaches start to know your game play, strengths and weaknesses. So when Cranbourne came out and led us 5-0, it was a shock but no surprise, as they are definitely a team that can get red hot and grow in confidence.
This week we worked on a new skill of defending off the body and timing to commit to intercept and split ring defence. It took time to understand it, when to stay and when to have a crack. We wanted to be hunters!
In the second quarter we were exactly that! Our defence locked down, keeping Cranbourne scoreless before our goalers came alive, shooting eight goals. The midcourt played brilliantly continuously bringing the ball back into attack. This is how we play, we had arrived.
Early in the third, Cranbourne shot some early goals by capitalising on our fumbles in attack. With some rotation in the circle, we were able to find the open pass to the post and our shooting was accurate.
In the final quarter, we played with confidence and our hunting created intercepts all over the court for all players. We finished the day with an eight to one last quarter, making this our best win over Cranbourne.
Beaconsfield 19 defeated Cranbourne 8.
AWARDS: The McDonalds award went to Adaleira, who has been working on her footwork and is the ultimate when it comes to intercepting. Her hard work can often turn a game in our favour.
Twisted Sista award went to Eva. She’s new to defence and is killing it, this week she was so strong taking up space and created drive from defence.
UNDER-13 BLUE VS NARRE WARREN.
Having come off two byes in two weeks, the girls were with excited to take the court again.
We welcomed back Phoebe from a long injury and at last had a full complement of players to choose from, it was a well-fought tough game from start to finish.
Narre Warren has certainly improved since our last meeting and pushed us hard all game making us work for every ball.
Our defence was outstanding all day and the drive out of the defence through mid-court from Tata Spencer was amazing to watch.
Our goalers were patient and accurate in windy conditions and our mid court worked all game to push through a tough Narre defence. We came away with a two-goal win and I’m super proud of the way the girls played the game out right until the end.

UNDER-15 WHITE VS NARRE WARREN.
Proud coach moment!
We took on Narre Warren – who is well clear on the top of the ladder – for the second time this season.
We went into the game knowing it would be tough, but were looking for little wins as a team and we definitely found one when we were able to beat Narre in the second quarter, six goals to four!
Narre Warren’s Team Manager told us that we were the only team to beat them in a quarter this season, which is quite an achievement and one the girls should be very proud of!
The team spirit, determination and enthusiasm after winning that quarter was so great to witness as a coach. I hope the girls take this second quarter win as a great example of what they are capable of and continue to build on this for the rest of the season!

UNDER-15 BLUE VS NARRE WARREN.
This week we came up against Narre Warren and we knew this was going to be a tough challenge, as Narre Warren has some very talented and tall squad -level players in their team.
I don’t want to focus on the final outcome, instead discuss how proud l am of this group of girls; they’re respectful, they listen, they’re passionate and always give their all.
It’s really hard as a coach to see them so deflated after a really tough loss, but to me that shows they care and are invested in their team.
They are a tight group that have respect for each and every player in their team and towards myself as their coach. It’s definitely a credit to all the parents as to how these girls conduct themselves. My message to the girls is to always keep your heads high and use this loss as a reason to want to improve and grow as a player.

UNDER-17 WHITE VS GEMBROOK COCKATOO.
On Saturday the under-17 White team took on Gembrook at home.
We came into the game looking forward to keeping our good form going and we got on top early in the first quarter to hold a healthy lead at the first change.
From there we kept the pressure up, playing to our strengths, coming away with a strong win.

UNDER-17 BLUE VS NARRE WARREN.
I’m really proud of the girl’s efforts on Saturday.
We knew today was going to be a tough game against the ever strong Narre Warren team, but the girls took on the challenge with dedication and passion.
The girls were fierce and concentrated on their defensive zone which worked well, but unfortunately not enough to take the game.

D GRADE VS NARRE WARREN.
Playing Narre Warren at home this week, we knew we had a bit of work ahead of us to turn around our 13-goal loss from the first time we met.
I spoke to the group about the importance of getting a good start, which can allow us to control the game and dictate our own structures rather than chasing.
We finished the first half with a four-goal lead and that was to the credit of our strong defence and winning lots of defensive rebounds.
Our ball movement was strong and timing was awesome; we unfortunately lost Charlie to a shoulder injury, but had options through our mid court rotations.
We continued our defensive pressure and great ball movement; Katie Bouchier and Shelley’s back up was fantastic and they fed the goalers with ease, both of which were combining well.
Narre fought back in the last quarter as both sides were going goal for goal.
We then lost Chloe to injury and bought Siena from under-17s in to fill the gap and she did a great job.
With only seconds to go we had a one-goal lead… Narre took the ball forward and tied the game up almost on the final whistle. It was fantastic improvement from this group that continue to improve each week.

C GRADE VS NARRE WARREN.
Huge Credit to the girls on Saturday against Narre Warren.
Our team was hit hard this week with injury, resulting in many positional adjustments across the court.
We had some beautiful moments of play, but unfortunately we weren’t able to catch Narre.
I was incredibly proud of the girls for giving themselves team challenges throughout each quarter.
A huge thank you to the many girls who stepped on the court for us this week – Tahnee, Em, Bridie,

B GRADE VS NARRE WARREN.
We took on the ladder leading Narre Warren this week and were expecting nothing but clinical netball from our classy opponents.
Playing with a new attacking combination we unfortunately took too long to settle.
We then put that behind us and came out of the blocks in the second quarter, playing with an injection of renewed energy.
We managed to take this quarter from the Magpies and played well into the third.
Unfortunately, we ran out of puff in the last and couldn’t keep up with our opponents.

A GRADE VS NARRE WARREN.
We hosted Narre Warren at the weekend, which have been setting the benchmark of Outer East netball this season.
Their defensive pressure was intense, and we found it difficult to work ball through court, and when we did, we proved it was difficult to execute.
We focussed on playing as a connected team, no matter what was happening on the scoreboard.
Defensively we had a number of wins, with our defence taking intercepts and tips to slow down Narre’s play.
We saved our best for the last quarter, managing to open our play and put the ball through the hoop.
