Swans to spend first month at home

Casey-South Melbourne will spend six of its first eight weeks at home when Victorian Premier Cricket returns on October 1.

The Swans will roll out the welcome mat to Melbourne University in round 1 and fellow grand finalist Carlton in round 2 in the long-awaited return of red ball cricket.

The opening four rounds will be two-day fixtures to align with the Sheffield Shield., while the seven-week succession of one day matches is to support the Big Bash League.

With a 16-round season returning to accommodate the return of red-ball cricket, the Swans will miss two opponents this summer, those being Greenvale Kangaroos and Kingston Hawthorn.

Here is the Swans’ 2022/23 fixture:

Round 1: Casey-South Melbourne v Melbourne University – two day.

Round 2: Casey-South Melbourne v Carlton – two day.

Round 3: Richmond v Casey-South Melbourne – two day.

Round 4: Casey-South Melbourne v St Kilda – two day.

Round 5: Essendon v Casey-South Melbourne – one day.

Round 6: Casey-South Melbourne v Ringwood – one day.

Round 7: Fitzroy Doncaster v Casey-South Melbourne – one day.

Round 8: Camberwell Magpies v Casey-South Melbourne – one day.

Round 9: Casey-South Melbourne v Dandenong – one day.

MID-SEASON BREAK

Round 10: Frankston Peninsula v Casey-South Melbourne – one day.

Round 11: Casey-South Melbourne v Prahran – one day.

Round 12: Casey-South Melbourne v Melbourne – two day.

Round 13: Northcote v Casey-South Melbourne – two day.

Round 14: Casey-South Melbourne v Footscray – two day.

Round 15: Geelong v Casey-South Melbourne – two day.
