There was a little bit of everything in South East Juniors (SEJ) with some tight games being played and some big scores being kicked in others.

There were plenty of players ready for another fun season with the Sherrin.

UNDER 11

In under-11 Red, Berwick Navy had 13 players contribute to its 19 goals with Zachary Smithells, Jacob Chilcott, Cooper deVink, Fletcher Haworth and Phoenix Mei all kicking two or three goals.

Jaiden Singh kicked two goals as Narre Warren just got over Pakenham, with Aldin Alicic and Logan Ball both kicking goals for the Lions.

And Jacob Smethurst booted two to set Officer on the right track against Fountain Gate.

In under-11 Blue, Zane McCarthy had the flags waving for Berwick against Berwick Springs, while Jesse Vethecan kicked five goals in a big win for Lyndhurst over Clyde.

Mason Fitzgerald and Lucas Oldham were both pretty good for the Cougars.

And finally, Mason Curry and Xavier Roberts kicked two goals each as Officer won well against Foxes Grey.

UNDER 12

Officer Blue was the talk of the SEJ under 12s after Ollie Main went crazy with seven goals against Pakenham at Toomuc Reserve.

Main had some great helpers with Archie Williamson kicking three, and Brodie Cassidy, Jake Day, Finn Pate and Briley Steur all snagging two each.

Riley Brett, Lachie Elston and Harley Lebusque never gave up for the Lions until the final siren had sounded.

In other games, Liam Riky and Kallen Smith kicked three goals for Narre Warren against Clyde, while Jayden Worrell kicked two in Officer Black’s 33-point win over Cranbourne.

Kayden Curtin booted three as Berwick Springs got the better of Berwick Navy, while Berwick White spread the load nicely against Narre North Foxes Black.

Xavier Meade and Hunter Milnes kicked three each for Berwick, while Blake Stockx chimed in with two.

In the final game, Parkmore edged past Foxes Grey by two points in a thriller.

Officer was also good in under-12 girls, with Olivia Cattunar, Sophie Ebzery, Mila Glasgow, Charli Matthey and Mia Prentice all booting multiple goals in a good win over Berwick Springs.

Alouera Price was another standout for the Kangaroos, while Indie Burgess and Mila Ghanem tried their best for the Titans.

Lilly Marshall and Hunter-Rose Whitfield were among the best for Berwick White in a strong game against Clyde, with Aliyah Azzopardi and Charlotte Statton kicking a goal each for the Cougars.

And the game between Foxes Black and Cranbourne was a ripper, with the Foxes winning by nine points.

Angelina Purcivall and Sia Stevens jagged a goal each for the Foxes, while Addison Madigan kicked the only goal for the Eagles.

UNDER 13

Officer flew out of the blocks in Premier against Edithvale Aspendale and never looked back, kicking six goals to nil in the first half, on its way to a 9.3 57 to 2.3 15 win.

Deputy vice-captain Elijah Honeyford kicked three goals for the Kangaroos and Jett Sharlott two.

Berwick got the better of Frankston by 16 points, with Xavier Chapple and Thomas Wilson kicking three goals each in the 16-point win.

Narre Warren held off a fast-finishing Karingal in Gold, notching a five-point win over the Bulls at home.

Jack Viney kicked three for the Magpies as Noah Cashen, Zak Pollard and Cooper Santangelo led the way in the 7.8 50 to 6.9 45 result.

Berwick got the better of Mount Eliza by 26 points but Cranbourne was not as successful, in a 46-point loss to Seaford.

Pakenham and Clyde couldn’t reel in Mornington and Edithvale Aspendale, respectively, in Navy, while Clyde let slip a three-quarter-time lead against Karingal.

UNDER 14

Zara Rice was among Pearcedale Baxter’s best in an 80-point win over Mornington in Girls Premier, kicking three of her side’s 12 goals.

Berwick’s girls held Frankston goalless for three quarters in a resounding 88-point win in Blue, with Daniela McDonald kicking three goals as one of 10 individual goal kickers.

Officer too was resolute in defence against Narre Warren in Gold, in a 26-1 win at Sweeney Reserve, with Charlotte Hili, Darcey Butcher-Vella and Ellie-Rose Golotta all influential.

Levi Luczkowski bagged six for Berwick Springs in the Titans’ 101-point win over Langwarrin in Boys White, while Narre South dominated Frankston in Mixed Navy, kicking eight goals in the first quarter on its way to an 86-point win, thanks to five goals from Tyler Sorenson.

Officer, meanwhile, won by 159 points against Seaford in Premier, with Jaxson Hanegraaf, Khy Martin and Ziggy McConnell each kicking four.

UNDER 15

Five goals each to Nathan Beck and James Goerlitz powered Narre North to a 142-point thrashing of Mt Eliza in Blue, as the Foxes kicked 22.24 (156).

Officer trailed at every break but kicked seven goals in the final quarter to overrun Berwick by 42 points in Gold, with Mitchell Hall starring with five goals.

Pakenham hung on by five points in a thriller of Langwarrin in Navy, winning 58-53 at Toomuc Reserve, while a poor second half cost Berwick in White, overrun by Carrum Patterson Lakes in the second half by six points.

Officer had no such issues against Langwarrin in Premier, winning by 66 points.

UNDER 16

Four goal hauls to Bailey Nolc and Flynn Howard have led Berwick Springs to a 20.23 143 to 1.1 7 win over Officer, while Narre North Foxes was outplayed by Pearcedale.

Cranbourne got the jump on Carrum Downs early, winning by 35 points, Brodie Whittaker contributing three of the Eagles’ 12 goals, while Fountain Gate was outplayed by 49 points and Berwick Springs Green got blown away in the second half by Rosebud

Brady Dixon had a day out for Devon Meadows, kicking seven goals in its big win over Seaford at Casey Fields, while Beau Potter snagged four as officer pulled away from Edi-Asp in the third quarter to win by 19 points.

Early goals to Jasmine Meehan and Emily Simpson was not enough to get Officer over the line against Karingal, as it went down 2.5 17 to 5.2 32.

Despite the Kangaroos kicking the only two goals of the first quarter, they were unable to keep the momentum going, with three third-quarter goals to Karingal a big factor in the result.

Meanwhile, Fountain Gate and Devon Meadows were unable to register a major against Crib Point and Pearcedale respectively.

At Toomuc, Sianna Stojanovic, Marlee Cabansag, Dakota McDonald, Ella Beckett, Chelsie Seabrook and Eden Terrington all put multiple goals on the board as Berwick had a big win over Pakenham, while Chelsea proved too strong for Cranbourne.

Titans co-captain Claire Allison led from the front, kicking five of her teams six goals in a 19-point win over Mount Eliza, while Annie Clish kicked four in Narre North’s 14-point loss to Rye-Sorrento.

UNDER 17

Captain Jack Bellinger and goalkicker Bailey King were the protagonists as Berwick Springs soundly outplayed Langwarrin, while Narre North and Narre South both suffered round 1 defeats.

Berwick and Cranbourne had all the play in their big wins over Lyndhurst and Crib Point respectively in the Gold Competition, while Berwick and Officer went down in Premier Division.

UNDER 18

Berwick skipper Mackenzie Krogh kicked three goals on Sunday, but it wasn’t enough to drag her team to victory as they went down by seven points to Mount Martha, while Karingal was too good for Narre North and Devon Meadows won by forfeit against Cranbourne.
