Hanrahan goes back-to-back on a glorious day for bowls

A great turnout of 48 members of the South West Gippsland Midweek Bowling Group family headed to San Remo on Thursday on a magnificent day for lawn bowls.

The San Remo Bowls Club was looking great as the players got ready to fight it out for team of the week.

Pauline and John signed everyone in before Peter and David arranged the teams for the day.

The standard was very high this week and it was a pleasure to see so many great shots across all the rinks.

There were a couple of wayward shots bowled; but only one or two on a good day overall.

There was lots of banter and laughter heard across the green as everyone enjoyed the company.

The weekly winners on 34 points were Mark Hanrahan (S), Michael Sheers (3), Mark Andreatta (2) and Elaine Williams (L).

Runners up, also on 34 points, were Peter Borradale (S), Luke Monckton (3), Aggie Gratton (2) and Shirl Corcoran (L).

Best One Game winners, on 21 points, were Ken Harding (S), Rob Jeffereys (3), Brenda Moloney (2) and Tony Morris (L).

Thank you to Gwen and Claire in the kitchen as well as Michael behind the bar.

Also thank you to the greenkeeper at San Remo; the green was in excellent condition and ran true all day.

This week we will be meeting at Lang Lang to fight it out once more.

Please be on site by 10am to allow time for the teams to be arranged.

Meanwhile have a great long weekend and stay safe until then.
