Officer’s clash with Carlisle Park will headline round 3 of the Casey Cardinia Cricket Association District competition on Saturday.

It’s set to be a mouthwatering clash, with Officer coming off a runner-up finish last year, and Carlisle Park relegated from the Premier competition last season but set to be a contender for the District premiership.

Officer has hit the ground running, with the bowling attack destroying Pakenham Upper Toomuc on Saturday, with little contribution from spearhead Cooper Pursell, who looks set for a big season.

Jaswinder Gill will also come into the match in hot form, clattering 67 off 36 to guide the Officer chase.

Carlisle Park, meanwhile, blew the cobwebs out in the first match of the season, with six players passing 10 in its first completed game of the season, before Jaan Balasuriya did the damage with the ball.

The Vikings will hope for more even contributions across the bowling lineup against a punishing Officer top-order.

Elsewhere, Lang Lang is set to take on Nar Nar Goon/Maryknoll, Emerald host Melbourne Sixers and Pakenham Upper Toomuc has Cranbourne Meadows.
