Lang Lang Bowls Club turned on a spectacular day for lawn bowls as a huge turnout of members from the South West Gippsland Midweek Bowling Group took part in the weekly challenge.
It is hard to describe how ideal the weather was…all I can say is it was perfect for bowls.
We were welcomed today by Vern and Bev, while Claire and Rob arranged the teams.
Out on the green it was lots of fun as always with great quality bowling from great quality players.
Laughter could be heard across all rinks as friend fought friend for the day.
Just a quick compliment to the club for the wonderful state of the green, it makes the day so much fun.
There were a couple of wrong bias bowls to keep the Royal Children’s Hospital tin filling up, which is always good to see.
Today’s winners on a score of 35 were Michael Dady, Sue Wright, Brenda Moloney and Colin Scales.
Runners up on a score of 34 were Denis Talbot, Ron Fenton, Raff Merante and Jim Nunan.
Best One Game winners were Rob Jeffrey, Max Williams and Alex Martin.
Marianne and Colin looked after all our thirsty bowlers and are so much appreciated by everyone.
A big thank you also to Jenny and Laurie for looking after the kitchen and cleaning up after the match.
Thank you also to Neville for preparing the green and David for clearing up outside after the game.
As next week is so close to Easter, we will be having a day off but we will be regrouping again on April 24 at Corinella.
We wish all our members as well as everyone else a very happy Easter and hope that it brings families together for the season.
Meanwhile, until April 24, have fun and stay safe.
