LANG LANG GOLF
It was another memorable week for members at Lang Lang Golf Club with players battling strong winds, showers and plenty of tricky conditions.
Despite the heightened challenge, two big highlights stood out beyond the results sheet.
Lang Lang Ladies proved triumphant in the Challenge Bowl, while Eden Genoni scored a personal milestone, recording his first-ever hole-in-one on the 12th hole on Sunday.
Tuesday’s Par Super Series saw Tony Ambrus (8) take A Grade with +3, while Rod Cameron (13) finished runner-up on -1.
In B Grade, John Piggott (25) edged out Steve Dunn (21) on a countback, both finishing +1.
On Thursday, Charlie Love (20) topped the stableford competition with 37 points, ahead of Kel Dalziel (18) on 35.
The Two-Ball Best Ball went down to a countback, with Clive Taylor and John Johnson (41pts) just edging Rod Walker and Rod Cameron.
Friday was a special day, with the 2025 Lang Lang Ladies Challenge Bowl drawing 66 players from 13 clubs.
Despite a grim forecast and swirling winds, the field completed their rounds before the rain set in, returning to the clubhouse for a well-earned lunch.
The Lang Lang ladies produced a brilliant effort to take home the Bowl with a team total of 98 points, with Lee Andrews, Cheryl Stockdale, and Maria Warburton combining for the victory. Individual winners were Marg Johnson (Wonthaggi GC) on 36 points in A Grade, Libby Dehey (Ranfurlie GC) with 34 points in B Grade and Liz O’Neil (Phillip Island GC) winning with 37 points in C Grade.
Saturday’s Par competition saw Kougar Lloyd (11) in A Grade prevail on countback with +1 over Kallan Braid-Ball (1), while Warren Krahe (9) rounded out the placings on square.
B Grade belonged to Micah Dawson (15) on +2, followed by Roger Parker (15) and Mark Weeding (17) both on +1.
In C Grade, Peter Thompson (28) claimed the win with +1, from Gary Burgess (25) on square and Jack Courtney (28) on -1.
Sunday’s Stableford wrapped up the week, with Brinne Ferdinandus (10) producing the top score of 37 points.
He was followed by Craig Hios (9) on 34 and Denham De Silva (16) on 30 points via countback.
It was a week that tested every golfer, but some great outcomes all round.
