POLICE are hunting the arsonists responsible for destroying one of Berwick’s heritage listed buildings, the Old Cheese Factory.
The fire at the Old Cheese Factory in Homestead Road, Berwick destroyed the heritage listed chapel and administration building in the early hours of last Wednesday morning.
Detectives from Casey Crime Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the suspicious fire and estimate the total damage bill to be $150,000.
Community groups including Berwick Youth Choir and the Parkinson’s Art Group are devastated by the loss of equipment and resources in the blaze.
Investigators have released images of two men they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.
A white Holden sedan, possibly a VR or VS Commodore model, was seen in the car park area around the time of the fire.
