Burglars strike twice

LOCAL police are investigating a burglary at a Berwick house last weekend in which more than $8000 worth of property was stolen.
Police said thieves gained access to the Strathavan Drive house by forcing a timber window some time between 7.30pm last Saturday night and 3am the next morning.
Among the items stolen were a TEAC flat screen television, a computer and several pieces of jewellery.
In a separate burglary, a Narre Warren resident had a $4000 plasma television stolen last week.
Thieves entered the house last Friday and stole the Samsung brand television as well as a digital set top box valued at $350.
Police said access was gained to the property through the family room back door.
Anyone with information about either crime is asked to contact Senior Constable Damien Grange on 9705 3111.
