BERWICK scored a controversial win over the Southern Pirates to headline the weekend’s Dandenong District Cricket Association round five play.
In other Turf One matches, Narre Warren lost again, Doveton has leapt off the bottom and Cranbourne crashed against Buckley Ridges.

BERWICK consigned the Southern Pirates to bottom spot with a controversial 148-run smacking at Wachter Reserve on the weekend.
With smoky conditions engulfing the region, the powerful Bears bowling line-up destroyed the Pirates for 95 in response to Berwick’s 9/243.
The drama began from there, as Pirates captain Leigh Taylor refused to send his players back out onto the field, two of them being asthma sufferers.
Berwick believes it is akin to a forfeit and warrants an outright result, but as of going to press the Bears had only been awarded first innings points.

NARRE Warren slumped to its third consecutive defeat on Saturday with a 90-run thrashing by undefeated North Dandenong at Sweeney Reserve.
Chasing 334 for victory, Wendell Perumal (65) and Dean Williams (32) produced a 99-run second wicket to give the Magpies a chance.
After the pair was removed, North Dandenong went about embarrassing the rest of the Magpies’ recognised batsmen.
Only a cavalier knock from Mark Teeuw (63 not out) saved the Magpies from complete destruction and they were bowled out for 243.
Paul Court was the star with the ball with figures of 3/34.

Keysborough v Doveton
DOVETON rocketed off the bottom of the ladder with a resolute bowling performance leading to a 47-run victory over Keysborough at Keysborough Reserve on the weekend.
Keysborough made a solid start in pursuit of 284 but Doveton continued to toil.
Ryan Hendy (6/62) backed up his 36 to produce a devastating spell of bowling that ripped the heart out of Keysborough’s innings.
Keysborough went from 2/117 to 6/144 and despite some rearguard action from Mahshan Perera (77), wickets continued to tumble at a rapid rate and it fell short of the winning target.
@BT Sub Sport News:Cranbourne v Buckley Ridges
BUCKLEY Ridges confirmed its spot in the top four with a crushing 123-run triumph over Cranbourne at Casey Fields on Saturday.
Cranbourne captain Ross Woodall was confident of chasing down Buckley Ridges’ day-one total of 9/282, but his side collapsed to be all out for 159.
Brad Angus (60) defied his recent batting woes to hold the fort at the top of the order, but he could not find a willing ally and when he became the eighth wicket to fall, the Eagles were already out of the contest.
Westley Nicholas produced season-best figures of 5/28 off just six overs.

North Dandenong v Hampton Park
HAMPTON Park completed an upset three-wicket success over North Dandenong at Lois Twohig Reserve to revive its top-four hopes on the weekend.
Chasing 207, Hampton Park steamed to 1/44 by stumps on day one and crafted its way to an important win.
At 2/130, Hampton Park appeared to be cruising to victory, but two wickets from Craig Leonard (4/46) and another by Scott Nicholls (1/11) had it 5/147 and staring down the barrel of a disappointing defeat.
Youngster Suhayl Kahn (35 not out) produced the steadying innings Hampton Park required, and with solid support from the tail he managed to guide his side past the winning target.
@BT Sub Sport News:Lyndale v Fountain Gate
FOUNTAIN Gate survived a persistent Lyndale squad to prevail by 14 runs at Barry Powell Reserve on Saturday.
Jeremy Vethecan (51) was the stand-out player for Lyndale once again after claiming 2/11 the previous weekend, as his side fell to 6/133. The bowlers took to the willow as they had with the ball, however, and multiple contributions from the tail steered them back into the match.
Michael Gallagher (19 not out) and Rodney Keyaerts (20) put in a valiant final-wicket effort to fall just short of Fountain Gate’s 250.
@BT Sub Sport News:Hallam-Kalora Park v Maranatha Methodist
HALLAM-KALORA Park obliterated Maranatha Methodist by 176 runs in a gross mismatch at Hallam Recreation Reserve on the weekend.
Set a victory target of 369, Maranatha Methodist’s opening combination rolled to 96 before Jeffrey Thom (51) was removed, and when Warren Dickson (43) retired hurt the side collapsed.
Hallam-Kalora Park captured its final eight victims for just 96 runs, with all-rounder Steven Chapman (90 and 3/56) and Lee Brown (4/59) doing the damage.
@BT Sub Sport News:HSD v Springvale South
SPRINGVALE South managed a stirring comeback to beat HSD by three wickets at Reedy Reserve on Saturday.
Resuming at 2/49 and still 183 runs from HSD’s score, Springvale South slumped to 4/74. Mark Keatinge (61 not out) and Peter Ryan (39) saved the situation, however, and put together a 92-run partnership to steer their side back into the contest.
Another quick wicket put Springvale South back in trouble, but Christos Pasnin (39) picked up the slack to help his side to victory.
@BT Sub Sport News:St Brigids-St Louis v Doveton North
DOVETON North crumbled to another huge defeat when St Brigids-St Louis emerged victorious by 163 runs at Bondi Oval on the weekend.
Adam O’Donnell (121 not out) was literally a one-man show for Doveton North and he made all but 62 of his team’s total of 183.
Chris Bull (4/65) and Tim Miller (3/22) ran through the side to be the best of the St Brigids-St Louis bowlers.
