AT LEAST 35 fire trucks and air units from Berwick and surrounds battled a large grass fire covering at least 90 hectares in Officer yesterday (Wednesday).
Emergency crews were called at 2.30pm.
The fire quickly spread south crossing Lecky Road and heading towards Cardinia.
The CFA issued an emergency warning and fire crews shut parts of the freeway, causing long traffic delays.
