In step with modern rhythm

GONE are the days of traditional jazz, tap and ballet.
The male and female teachers at Sub-Urban Dance Centre (SUDC) are all currently working professionally and bring the new and changing dance styles to their students.
Fused with impeccable technical training and discipline, Sub-Urban Dance Centre offers classes through the Berwick Masonic Hall, High Street, Berwick (next to restaurant) in hip-hop, break dancing (b-boying) lyrical, acrobatics, aerobics, street tap, classical ballet, contemporary, technical jazz and boys-only classes.
Sub-Urban Dance centre is directed by choreographer of the 2005 and 2006 National Junior Hip-Hop Champions, Amanda McInnes.
“We specialise in teaching real hip-hop styles to all ages not just senior students,” she said.
“All faculty members have outstanding professional resumes including internationally recognised breaker Christian Bijlsma.
“Christian has worked for Sony Roadshow on the ‘You Got Served’ movie tour and as a member of K.O crew, is renowned as one of Melbourne’s number-one breakers.”
Christian holds b-boying (break-dancing) classes for boys and girls aged eight to 20.”
Sub-Urban Dance Centre also holds aerobic classes for fun and fitness as well as competitive aerobics.
It is also home to one of Melbourne’s leading junior hip-hop crews Unda-Size.
The crew, aged seven to 12 and ranked at number-three internationally, performs professionally around Melbourne including promotions for a leading radio station and for the Melbourne Tigers.
