So Casey Council’s Manager Property, Rates and Valuation is unable to give any estimate of the time and cost of the abortive attempt to introduce suburb name changes on parts of Cranbourne East (Suburb To Stay, News, 20 February) because council did not keep any record of the time spent on the process.
If this is typical of Casey Council’s cavalier attitude to spending (wasting?) ratepayers’ money, perhaps the Auditor-General should investigate whether that council really operates a system which ensures good governance.
