A MAN is dead after being involved in a major collision in Hallam on Friday.
The Hallam motorist, 55, was driving a grey Mitsubishi Pajero when his vehicle and a Kenworth truck collided at the intersection of Princes Highway and Harmer Road shortly before 8.30am.
He was taken to The Alfred hospital in a critical condition but died on Monday night.
Police have not released his name.
Police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the blue and white Kenworth timber jinker truck travelling on the Princes Highway between Dandenong and Hallam prior to the collision.
Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit have interviewed a 34-year-old Traralgon man about the collision.
He has been released pending further investigation.
