Copper pipe discovered in paddock fire

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a fire in Hallam in which arsonists set alight a large amount of insulated copper piping.
Emergency services were called to a paddock on Centre Road shortly after 6.30am on Saturday 5 November where the fire had been lit.
Upon investigation, police discovered $10,000 worth of copper that was stolen during the burglary of an industrial supply store on Melverton Drive overnight.
Police said the thieves were trying to burn off the insulation material so the piping could then be sold on.
Police urged any witnesses to the incident or anyone who is aware of those involved to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 000 333.
