More than 3500 people attended Busk a Move to watch 25 acts battle it out in the ultimate showdown at Bunjil Place in Narre Warren on Saturday October 6 and Sunday October 7.
Solo musician Oskar Proy was the overall winner of Busk a Move, winning a $400 Westfield voucher.
Melbourne based band Chasing Ray was the Saturday winner and solo musician Eddy Robert was the Sunday winner. Both received a $100 Bunjil Place voucher.
“Bunjil Place’s first ever busking festival was a great success, with the weather turning it on for two days of performances, food trucks and family fun in the Plaza,” City of Casey mayor Geoff Ablett said.
“Audiences were treated to a wide variety of performances with solo acoustic musicians, rappers and bands to magicians, dance acts and spoken word artists taking to the stage.
“Oskar Proy, who was a hit on The Voice, performed solo and was also joined by his 12-year old sister for a few songs. Oskar was a crowd favourite and took out the top prize, earning himself the title of Bunjil Place Busk-Master.”
Cr Ablett said the free children’s activities and rides and tasty food trucks were a hit with the crowds, providing for another great day out at Bunjil Place for our local community.
The next big, free community event is the Bunjil Place first birthday celebration on Sunday 28 October, which is shaping up to be a huge day of music, theatre, art, workshops and food.
