Festival of voices

Would you like to be part of a new inclusive community choir led by local heroes?

Arts Access Victoria (AAV) is running a ten-week inclusive singing group, Winter Arts Voices, with an opportunity to perform at a local community event as part of City of Casey’s Winter Arts Festival.

Winter Arts Voices will be facilitated by local Disabled Artists Dave and Sue Stergo.

Having performed on the X-Factor, Dave Stergo is a classically trained singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer who appears regularly at open mic nights in Casey.

Dave turns his passion into opportunities for others to find healing, saying “I see myself connecting people using the power of music, to foster an environment where each one’s spirit can find a little light.”

Sue is deeply passionate about using her life-long passion for art and creativity to make a better world full of love, healing and harmony.

Sue, alongside Dave, led All Stars Choir. Speaking about this experience, Sue said “it’s amazing how people with disability can connect with others, form friendships and have joy through singing together and participating in the community.”

Details: Thursdays 20 June – 22 August from 1.30 pm – 3.30pm at Selandra Community Hub, 7-9 Selandra Boulevard, Clyde North.

Cost: free Requirements: adults with disability or mental health lived experience connected to the City of Casey. No experience is necessary.
