Step back in time for the roaring 20s

A spectacular night of 1920s elegance and jazzy partying is set to descend upon Cranbourne Turf Club for a superb cause.

Assisting Casey Education (ACE) Foundation, a non-for-profit organisation, which provides a helping hand to disadvantaged students across Casey, is inviting the community to step back in time for a Great Gatsby dinner on Saturday 26 October.

Money raised will go towards children who are experiencing difficulties in their educational pursuits by providing free eye tests with optometrists in Casey, meal replacement drinks and reading books.

Entertainment on the night includes a live band, a surprise act, roaming entertainers, free give-aways, a big live auction, and dress-up photo booths.

ACE provides 2,500 meal replacement drinks to 12 public high schools every four weeks – for those who may not have breakfast or have a prepared lunch.

An additional $600 is provided every year to each public secondary and primary school in the municipality for students.

The foundation’s chair, Dr Leon Shapero, said 100 per cent of money raised goes straight into the foundation.

“The foundation has no costs. All administrative expenses and even the annual gala fundraising dinner are fully funded,” he said.

“So every dollar of the admission price reaches a child.

“We are presently seeking items big or small for our silent auction. If you are able to assist please contact us on 0459 520 010 www.acefoundation.org.au or visit us on Facebook aidingcaseyeducation,” Dr Shapero said.

Early bidding for the night’s silent auction will start from 11 September. To check items and start bidding visit: 32auctions.com/ACEfoundation.

Cost includes a three course meal, canapés, wine, beer, champagne and soft drinks.

Tickets are $135 tickets can be purchased online via Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/ace-great-gatsby-fundraiser-tickets-60171416326
