Caught out in Hampton Park

Six drivers had their cars impounded in Hampton Park following a police operation in Hampton on Thursday 19 September.

State Highway Patrol officers set up an automatic number plate recognition site in the vicinity of Pound Road as part of the intelligence led traffic operation.

In a five hour period police detected 66 offences which included 14 unauthorised drivers and 10 unregistered vehicles.

Six drivers, who had their cars impounded, face $1,005 in towing costs.

A 23-year-old man from Cranbourne was booked for unlicensed driving about 1pm as he was on his way to his licence test.

A 34-year-old man from Noble Park was also intercepted for unlicensed driving and also failed a roadside drug test.
