Car carve-up to rescue woman

RESCUERS cut apart a car’s dashboard to help free an Endeavour Hills woman who was involved in a serious collision on Tuesday.
Police said three people had to be rescued after the three-car collision occurred in Rowville just after midnight. CFA members attended the crash at the intersection of Stud Road and Wellington Road and freed the 24-year-old woman who was trapped by her legs.
Police said the driver of the second vehicle, along with a 60-year-old passenger, was trapped in their Holden Commodore for some time.
All three people were taken to The Alfred hospital but were not in a life-threatening condition, police said. The driver and two passengers in the third car, all men, were not injured in the collision.
The intersection was partially blocked until 1.20am, while police and emergency services cleared the scene.
Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the collision.
