Art expo honours Vietnam War heroes

Provenance Artists in Narre Warren South have been given a special gift to create paintings telling the story of Australian soldiers in the Vietnam War.

A $6,000 grant by Federal Member for Holt Anthony Byrne will allow 10 leading artist will create 22 large paintings to tell the story and honour Australia’s brave soldiers – which will be the centrepiece Provenance Artists’ Great Art Show on 27-29 March 2020.

The paintings will be exhibited at Nossal High School and Federation Univerisity Berwick campus and later at the Cranbourne RSL before being unveiled at the National Vietnam Veterans Museum in Phillip Island on National Vietnam Veterans day on 16 August.

The paintings will then be given to the museum in perpetuity.

Provenance artists are working with local and Philip Island veterans to select the photos from which the paintings will be created.

Casey Council also provided a special grant Provenance Artists to to take their art studio to the digital age.

The group used the grant to buy two computer screens to download images and create their paintings about the Vietnam War.

Provenance artists are seeking Vietnam Veterans who may have photographs that tell the story of our Australian soldiers in the Vietnam War are encouraged to contact organiser Calvin Bell

Provenance Artists Studio in Berwick Springs , Narre Warren South organises five weekly workshops for adult beginners, emerging and leading artists to take their art to the next level .
