Green fest delights crowds

The Green Living in Casey Expo was a thriving event at Bunjil Place Plaza on Saturday 17 November – packed with inspiring ways to shine a light on all things sustainable.

The free, family-friendly event featured guest speakers, workshops, eco-friendly market stalls, and kids’ entertainment while the Sikh community served up delicious curries for a gold coin donation.

Stalls included health products, organic food, sustainable baby ideas, upcycling and more.

Roving Refills were also on hand to refill visitor’s bulk green cleaning products.

Casey mayor Susan Serey said the day highlighted how the festival provided the community with opportunities to learn from a range of sustainability experts.

A Casey recycling truck for children to explore was also set up with free collectable wildlife cards and smoothie bikes on offer.

Free talks were held on topics such as composting, wildlife-friendly gardening and energy efficiency.
