Wanted, dead or alive

THE City of Casey’s parks and reserves team is currently replacing missing trees along Casey streets as part of the street tree planting program.
Every year council replaces missing street trees in response to resident requests or as a result of removing dead trees.
The street tree planting program is run from June to September every year, planting more than 3,000 trees.
Street trees provide for flora and fauna, help purify the air, and are one of the most effective ways of adding value to the image and landscape character of Casey.
City of Casey manager for parks and reserves Trevor Griffin said the trees provided a large range of important benefits to the community.
All residents who are missing a tree on their nature strip are being urged to contact council’s works centre on 9705 5200 to arrange for a suitable replacement tree to be planted.
