Twilight delight

The Hampton Park community was treated to a vibrant multicultural market at Arthur Wren Hall on Saturday 23 November.

Narre Warren South MP Gary Maas was pleased to speak at the event and take part in the festivities, including taking a turn in the dunk tank where Holt MP Anthony Byrne, happily had a shot at dunking Gary.

The dunking machine raised funds for future Hampton Park Progress Association community projects.

The day included a range of activities including food trucks, market stalls, a children’s play zone and live entertainment, much to the delight of the locals in attendance.

This Hampton Park Progress Association event was funded as part of the State Government’s $30 million Pick My Project initiative and was one of more than 230 projects across Melbourne and regional Victoria that received support.

Pick My Project allows community groups to pitch infrastructure projects, events, and initiatives that will benefit the local area, which are then voted on by residents.

“It was so much fun to be involved in such a fantastic day full of food and activities. Our community is so diverse and it’s great to see it reflected in events like these,” Mr Maas said.

“This event was made possible by the Victorian Government’s Pick My Project initiative. I am so excited to see other supported initiatives and what benefits they will bring to our community.”
