Covid cases remain high

Coronavirus infections have remained at 21 active cases in Casey City overnight, according to the latest health data.

However, 
Victoria notched up its 16th consecutive day of double-digit growth – with cases rising by 77 to 2303. Of those, 1866 people have recovered from the virus.


Of the new cases 13 are linked to outbreaks, 37 have been identified through routine testing and 27 cases are under investigation. No new cases have been detected in returned travellers in hotel quarantine.

Department of Health and Human Services also reported one case linked a Patterson Lakes/Lysterfield family outbreak, a close contact of a known case, bringing the total to 10.

In nearby council areas, Greater Dandenong had three active cases of the virus while Cardinia had zero.


Across the state, 20 people were in hospital with four patients in intensive care.

There were 332 confirmed cases believed to be related to community transmission in the state.
