Man questioned over armed robbery

Detectives have questioned a Hampton Park man following an alleged armed robbery at Aldi Carrum Downs on Tuesday 15 September.

A Victoria Police spokesman said investigators have been told a man was allegedly armed with a handgun when he held up the supermarket on Frankston-Dandenong Road about 12.35pm.

“No-one was injured during the incident and the investigation is ongoing,” the spokesman said.

“As of Wednesday 16 September, a 30-year-old Hampton Park man is assisting police with their enquiries and has been released pending further enquiries.”

Police are looking for a man who is perceived to be caucasian, in his 20’s and was wearing an orange high-vis top and black face mask.

Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating.
