Technology funds for community centres

By Kelly Yates
THE Hallam Community Learning Centre is celebrating receiving a $5000 state equipment grant to install a modern telephone system.
The centre, along with the Endeavour Hills Uniting Care Neighbourhood Centre and the Narre Community Learning Centre, is sharing in $15,000 worth of grants to purchase new computers and projector screens.
Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan announced the funding boost, saying the grants will help Victoria’s Adult and Community Education (ACE) providers purchase new equipment to make learning easier.
“The Brumby Government is taking action to create more jobs and provide more opportunities for Victorians to improve their skills and undertake new training,” he said.
The Hallam Community Learning Centre will also use the funds to purchase new computers for the management and administration areas.
