BUDDHISM followers are celebrating the completion of the new main shrine at the Yun Yang Temple in Narre Warren North.
The shrine, which combines modern architecture with the unique art of ancient Buddhism, was completed this month.
The official opening will take place at the temple, along Reservoir Road, on Saturday 2 May.
Due to an increase in Buddhist followers, the temple management committee initiated a master plan for the redevelopment of the Yun Yang Temple, which was founded by Venerable Ru-Sun in 1995.
The 32 acre site, with a Buddhist garden, ancient-style pavilion, waterfall, lake and a 1.7km meditation track, houses the not-for-profit organisation and offers compassionate care and other support services to the community.
Meditation is the basis of the temple’s practice.
