The Melbourne International Comedy Festival (MICF) is gearing up for a stint in the suburbs this year, with a packed round up of comedians presenting Neighbourhood Sessions.

Narre Warren’s Bunjil Place will be lit up with laughs on Saturday 19 March, featuring comedians including MC Carl Donnelly (UK), Kirsty Webeck, Emma Holland, Dahn Rozario and Japan’s Takashi Wakasugi.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be involved with Neighbourhood Sessions this year…we always love the opportunity to take our material to new audiences,” comedian Kirsty Webeck said.

Kirsty, who is also performing her new solo show Silver Linings at the Melbourne Town Hall throughout the MICF, said Bunjil Place audiences can expect plenty of laughs and “a bunch of funny stories from the last 12 months” throughout the two-hour show.

“[Neighbourhood Sessions] will include a lot of different stories, widely because a lot of people end up coming to solo shows too, so you don’t want to double up on material,” she said.

“It’s a great opportunity for people who live a bit further from the city to have a great night out.”

The Melbourne International Comedy Festival is on from Wednesday 30 March to Sunday 24 April, with Neighbourhood Sessions presented at suburban venues from from Friday 18 March to Friday 8 April.
