Man crashes

A MAN crashed in to a pole in Berwick on Friday 29 May after a dispute with about 20 youths turned sour.
The 32-year-old man allegedly threatened the group of about 20 youths, who were in the car park of the Clyde Road McDonald’s restaurant, with a large knife at about 12.30am.
After being threatened with the knife, the youths turned the tables and chased the man away.
He jumped in his car and drove a short distance before crashing in to a pole on Kangan Drive.
The man, who was uninjured, managed to walk home and later presented himself at the Narre Warren police station.
He is currently assisting police with inquiries and is likely to be charged with various driving offences, including exceeding the prescribed concentration of alcohol.
Police will conduct further inquiries regarding the alleged incident at McDonald’s.
