THE oldest resident at Berwick Brae Retirement Village celebrated her 95th birthday this week with the help of her family and friends.
Sarah Mackie marked the special day on Tuesday with an afternoon tea with around 45 people.
Ms Mackie has been living in the retirement village for 25 years, and has had nine members of her family also reside there over the years.
According to manager Arlene Coutts, Ms Mackie often says that her family means everything to her.
“They are an important part of her life and she says her family is her biggest achievement,” Ms Coutts said.
Ms Mackie is described as an active resident, with Ms Coutts saying she was “95 years young.”
“She’s always out and about and enjoys wining and dining with her friends,” she said.
“She’s full of life and always dresses immaculately.”
Ms Mackie was presented with a certificate at the birthday celebration acknowledging she is currently the oldest most senior resident at the village.
