Big night of storms

CRANBOURNE was the worst hit suburb in Casey during Tuesday night’s storm.
Narre Warren SES controller Tim Howell told the News the crews were “quite busy”, going out to 36 jobs after the storm pounded Melbourne’s south-east at 7.30pm.
He said most of the calls received reported flash flooding and building damage in Cranbourne and Cranbourne North.
“We had warnings throughout the day that the storm was coming,” he said.
“Frankston was hit badly. We just caught the end of the storm cell as it was going through.”
It is believed Lyndhurst ended up with a total of 47 millimetres of rain.
SES crews finished clean up efforts by 2am yesterday (Wednesday).
