CASEY’S two female councillors are encouraging mothers to take part in a stroll around Wilson Botanic Park this Sunday.
Councillors Lorraine Wreford and Janet Halsall are calling on fellow mums to get down to the fun filled Casey’s Greatest Pram Stroll event.
Cr Wreford, who has four boys aged 12, 15, 17 and 19, said she would be attending the event, all be it without her sons in prams.
“It’s great exercise, it’s a social day out and it is really good for you,” she said.
The day will feature face painting, a colouring competition, live music, show bags, information stalls, sausage sizzle, special guest stars Lady Uppity Crust and the YMCA Frog
The City of Casey, in partnership with the Mothers of Casey Alliance and YMCA, have planned the day.
Casey manager of community care and health promotion Sophia Petrov said the free event is part of the various World’s Greatest Pram Stroll activities being held across Victoria to celebrate motherhood, socialising and getting active.
“This event has been running in Melbourne for the past five years, and this will be the third year that Casey has participated with its own local event,” Ms Petrov said
Children’s entertainment and a group walk around the stunning park will be just a couple of the activities to take place on the day.
Walkers are encouraged to bring lunch as barbecue and picnic facilities are available.
The Friends of Wilson Botanic Park will also hold a sausage sizzle.
So grab your walking gear, stroller and the family and take part in this fun event from 10am on Sunday, 28 October at Wilson Botanic Park in Berwick.
