Doves show no mercy

DOVETON got a dream start to the season against Beaconsfield, taking a 10-goal lead into quarter-time after holding Beaconsfield to a single point.
From then the Doves looked unstoppable and showed the home team no mercy, kicking seven goals to two in the second quarter.
The Doves took a 93-point lead by half-time and didn’t let this slip in the second half.
Ryan Hendy played a fine game, racking up possessions at will and finishing with six goals.
David George and Justin Hill each finished with four goals.
Robbie Hughes also played a standout game at centre half-forward, giving strong marking options, and was another avenue to goals, finishing with three.
Doveton ended with a 102-point win.

Some players missed out on round one and the seconds fielded a strong side in a gutsy five-point win.
The Doves got a slow start, trailing by three goals at quarter-time and four goals at the main break.
In the second half the Doves got their running game going through Scott Musgrove and Glenn Hamilton and kicked nine goals to Beaconsfield’s five.
Chris Rodriquez played a great game in defence and Dale Kilpatrick ran hard all game on the ball, giving the forwards good delivery.
Up forward Pete Dye kicked three goals, which included the winner inside the last minute.
Scores: Doveton 12.13.85 d Beaconsfield 12.8.80.

The thirds suffered their first loss in over 18 months to Beaconsfield, going down by 19 points in what was a quick and physical game.
The Doves got a slow start in the first half, being behind by 20 points at half-time.
After the main break the Doves come out firing and took the lead late in the third quarter.
In the last quarter the Doves were overrun by Beaconsfield and could only manage one goal.
Daniel Zajac played a good first game for the Doves, finishing with two goals.
He was aided by Daniel Bianco and Simon Black, who each kicked a goal.
