Stars of show

THE creative talents of Casey students were put on display last weekend at the annual Dandenong Show.
Eumemmerring Secondary College Fountain Gate Campus won 21 prizes at the show with students entering art, woodwork, leadlighting, textiles, photography and ceramics pieces.
Year nine student Doug Maloney was named Reserve Champion in the year nine and 10 technology division for his pine table, and fellow student Jessica Jonker was awarded for a chair she produced.
Year 10 student Dylan Seddon received first place in the digital photography section and Georgia Giakoumakis came first in the leadlighting and glasswork division.
Justin Ashford received a third place for his leadlighting and glasswork, Peter Hunt received a high commendation and Nicole Andrew a commendation.
Year 7 student and football fan Teigan Duketis was awarded second place in the woodwork division for a lamp she modeled on Collingwood player Alan Didak.
Eumemmerring College principal Vicki Walters said she was rapt with the results and was proud of the students’ achievements.
“This is the first time we entered as a school and I think this was a great opportunity for students to show their skills in the area of art and technology and be recognised,” she said.
“The results are just great.”
