Scouts join forces to honour McHappy Day

CASEY residents are being called upon to support the 1st Endeavour Hills Scout Group as they help to raise funds on McHappy Day.
The 17 November fundraiser is designed to raise money to assist seriously ill children and their families through Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).
The group is one of hundreds of scout groups across the country participating in a variety of community events such as holding sausage sizzles, trivia nights and collections at shopping centres.
This is the first time Scouts Australia and McDonald’s Australia have partnered to raise funds for McHappy Day.
Ronald McDonald House Charities CEO Malcolm Coutts said he is thrilled about Scouts Australia participating in the fundraising drive and reaching out into the community.
“McHappy Day is the largest annual fundraising event for Ronald McDonald House Charities and funds raised are vital for future developments,” he said.
“Funds raised will go towards operating, maintaining and providing for the future expansion of our twelve established Ronald McDonald Houses and the establishment of the 13th Ronald McDonald House at Orange in regional NSW.
“Funding will also support other programs including the Ronald McDonald Learning Program, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, Ronald McDonald Family Retreats and the RMHC Cord Blood Banks.”
Scouts Australia Chief Commissioner, John Ravenhall said McHappy Day is an exciting fundraising event for the movement to be a part of and Scout Groups are participating from every state and territory.
“We are proud to be a part of McHappy Day and engaging with our local community to help children and families experiencing one of the most difficult times of their lives,” Mr Ravenhall said.
On McHappy Day, $1 from every Big Mac and profits from every $2 wristband will go directly to seriously ill children and their families supported by RMHC.
Every cent raised goes directly to RMHC., which administers a range of programs that help seriously ill children live happier, healthier lives.
