Family records

THE Narre Warren and District Family History Group is holding its next general meeting on Saturday, 10 June at 2pm in the meeting room of the Narre Warren Library.
Guest speaker will be Joan Hunt, reference officer from the Public Record Office of Victoria in Ballarat, who will speak about exiles and how to find material on them in the records.

Taking care of business
CASEY businesses have been urged to attend a record-keeping workshop at Narre Warren Library next Wednesday.
The workshop will highlight the importance of keeping day-to-day records to monitor the health of your business.
The session also shows how a business activity statement is simply compiled from the daily record-keeping process. This seminar is a must for anyone starting out in business.
Garry Copplestone, a certified accountant and tax officer with more than 20 years’ experience assisting small business operators, government bodies, industry associations, community groups and tax professionals to understand a range of tax issues, will run the workshop.
The Narre Warren Library is on Overland Drive, Narre Warren. The free workshop runs from 6.30 to 8.30pm and bookings are essential. Phone 9704 7696.

@BT Sub Sport News:Noise about writing

Finger food, a program and a drink will be included with the $5 entry fee. Live music will be provided by local performer Swifty and guests for the evening have the chance to enter a raffle.
Brett’s of Berwick is at 2 Reserve Street, Berwick. Doors will be open from 7 to 10pm. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
