No catty business in Endeavour Hills

CASEY Council has given the all clear to an Endeavour Hills resident thought to be operating a cat-breeding business from their house.
A council officer investigated the property after some residents raised concerns over the smell emanating from the property and the number of cats seen on the premises.
However, Casey’s acting manager of administration, Jarrod Doake, said officers said there were only four cats and a recent litter at the time of their inspection.
He said there was no sign of a substantial amount of cats ever residing at the property.
“Given that there was no evidence of a large amount of cats residing at the property it was concluded that a cat-breeding business was not being undertaken at the residence,” he said.
“There was, however, a question as to whether the occupant of the property had an Excess Animal Permit allowing for more than two cats to reside in a residential area.”
Mr Doake said this matter was under investigation by Casey Local Laws department.
